A belated congrats and happy birthday! (It’s weird to congratulate someone on their divorce even when it’s the best thing) It’s awful how much the influence of these things do tend to spread past the original pair.

I think it’s awesome what you guys are doing with Nefarious. She has an amazing list of accomplishments for someone a mere 5 years old. So many parents emphasize either the mental or the physical but your daughter can play chess, paint, swim and climb. It’s always great to come here and see what the three of you have been up to.

My Bloody Valentine are on my list of bands I desperately wish I could see someday before I die. While I haven’t accomplished that yet, I take pleasure in the awareness that there are wonderful people out there getting to enjoy them while they’re touring at present.

I’m left with lots of good memories. but, yeah, some are a bit too painful right now. I’m still working through the grief. we broke up 2 years ago, but it was pretty traumatic. my dad got cancer a a couple months later. he’s now fine, but yeesh. the first time I really truly need my husband, and he’s off with his new girlfriend….

once J said that if I ever got my wrists tattooed, he’d divorce me. (he was worried about future career plans, but I really wanted both wrists done.) I told him that if he ever divorced me, I’d get my wrists tattooed. I’ve finally figured out what I’m getting. I’m hoping to make the appointment tomorrow! ha.

anyway, glad to reconnect. I’ll be around here more, for sure.

also congratulations on the divorce! at one point you and I kinda knew each other, but I’m not sure if you still remember me…. jonTao and I are now divorced too. ours was finalized in March. (he came with me to the New Year’s Eve BME BBQ way back in 2001, which was when you met R and the only time I’ve met the two of you in real life).

anyway, I’m mostly commenting to say congrats and also thanks for telling me about Survivor! it’s also always been my fave show (jonTao used to run a small Survivor pool on iam years ago) and I didn’t realize a new season had started again. I know what I’ll be watching tonight!

I’m glad I’ve started reading (found) your blog again. this feels normal.

That debate tonight could be unique in that there’s only one candidate present. mccain’s said he’s only going to be at the debate if there’s an agreement in Washington. It’s looking like there won’t be one, so either he doesn’t show up, or he shows up and gets labeled as the dreaded flip-flopper or, worse yet, a politics as usual politician.
