i’d advise against cafepress. i’ve not used them as an artist, but i have bought a few prints, and the quality was not very good, and the paper was not that great.

i am SO excited that you’re thinking of doing this. i’ll be first in line once you get something set up!

I can’t advise about online printers, but I can say that the most important thing is working with someone who can guarantee some kind of archival quality, and who will stand behind it.

I’ve produced, owned and exhibited tons of printed works over the past decade and I’ve seen all kinds of short and long-term fading. Your work is especially colourful and contrasty, which means that if one colour fades faster than others, it’s likely to be highlt noticeable.
